Fiesta Tuna Salad
[I made this healthy Fiesta Tuna Salad for Earth Fare!]
If you’ve been reading this blog for any length of time, you probably know I’m really into high quality canned tuna–and canned fish in general.
(I’ll recap my other favorite canned tuna recipes at the end of this post!)
But today, we’re visiting one of my favorite throw together meals – fiesta tuna salad! π₯π
Simple, Healthy and Satisfying
This recipe is simple deluxe. So I’ll keep the post short to match.
To get a creamy, healthy-fat-filled tuna salad, we’re calling on our good friend avocado! π₯
Just a quick mash with the back of a fork until that green goodness is nice and smooth. To the avocado, we’re mixing in some of my favorite “fiesta flavors.”
Lime juice, salt, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, and drizzle of olive oil.
In goes the tuna and some veggies.
My favorite veggie add-ins are:
- Diced red onion
- Radish
- Cilantro
But the beauty of this 5 minute tuna salad is that you can really just add anything you like and have on hand.
Some other yummy options might include:
- Bell pepper
- celery
- sweet corn
- cucumber
Sky’s the limit!
How to eat fiesta tuna salad like a pro:
Obviously you could just stick a fork right on in there and go for it.
But one of my favorite ways to eat it is served with some salsa and scooped up with bell pepper strips and plantain chips π
Tortilla chips also work great here as scooping vehicles (my favorite are Siete Foods brand.)
Or you can take the salad route, which I do a lot too. π
A bed of greens topped with the fiesta tuna salad, some salsa, and misc veggies/pickled jalapenos (yum!)
I usually shower with hot sauce, and have some plantain chips on the side for crunch factor and carbs.
Easy peasy!!

I like that mayo isnβt needed because of the avocado. Brilliant. And pretty!
