Chocolate Tahini Dip with Apples
[I made this easy, creamy Chocolate Tahini Dip with Apples for Earth Fare!]
Who here is as obsessed with tahini as I am?? To be honest, I wasn’t sure how I felt about tahini when I first tried it a few years ago. But now, it’s one of my favorite pantry staples!
Tahini is ground sesame seeds, so it’s like nut butter–but with a sesame flavor. It’s creamy, nutty, and has just a *slight* bitter taste that I love. It’s the secret to hummus, but it’s delicious in salad dressings, tuna salad, and even sweet treats!
And in my opinion, it goes great with chocolate. π π«
To make this ridiculously easy dip, you just mix some creamy tahini together with unsweetened cocoa powder (so healthy and full of antioxidants!), maple syrup, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Then all that’s left to do is to thin it out with some water, and DIP.
(Or spread, spoon, dunk, go right in with your finger, etc. – how you enjoy your tahini chocolate dip is entirely your business.)
One of MY favorite ways to enjoy this easy dip is with crisp, fresh apple slices. Crunchy apples are the perfect vehicle in my mind to dip up this delicious chocolatey goodness.
Plus, fall is here and I can’t get enough of them! πππ
Other ways to enjoy chocolate tahini dip
- Mixed into or drizzled over oatmeal π
- Spread over warm toast
- Used in place of syrup on pancakes and waffles
- Spooned over sliced bananas
- I could go on and on here, but you get the picture!
SO MANY CHOCOLATELY POSSIBILITIES. Is your mind running wild with ideas yet??
PS- When K did the taste testing for this, he asked “can we patent this?” π
Ingredients
- Β½ cup Earth Fare Organic tahini
- ΒΌ cup water
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- Β½ teaspoon salt
- Β½ teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocao powder
- Apples (for serving)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix to combine (sift chocolate to avoid lumps). Serve with sliced apples. Store leftover dip in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Notes
-Tahini and cocao powder are both naturally on the bitter side. If you prefer a sweeter dip, add additional maple syrup.
-The dip will thicken a bit once chilled.
I have to make this, looks awesome!
Hope you love it!
So yummy! I haven’t even tried it with the apples…the spoon works perfect!
Haha! Sometimes thatβs as far as it gets in our house! ππ
I want to love Tahini more because it is less expensive over nut butters and this dip might just make me fall in love with it. I added some unsweetened coconut to it and I used sugar free skinny syrup to sweeten it or you can use Toranis because I gotta watch my blood sugars
Yay! I love the idea of adding coconut π
Do you have a photo of the back of the tahini bottle? I canβt wait to make this!
Hi Sarah ππΌ Iβm currently out of the country and donβt have a picture of the back. The only ingredient should be sesame seeds!
