Everyday Detox Spritzer [Video]

I’ve never been one for harsh detoxes. I’d much rather help my body out everyday by giving it what it needs to detox effectively.
This detox spritzer has ginger, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and raw honey. Here’s why these ingredients are great in a detox drink:
Ginger β Ginger cleanses the body by improving digestion and circulation, and can help to remove the build-up of waste and toxins in the colon, liver, and other organs
Lemon Juice β Freshly squeezed lemon juice contains Vitamin C, and helps balance blood sugar. Lemon also has an alkaline effect on the body, helping to regulate PH.
Apple Cider Vinegar β Raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar contains friendly bacteria that improve digestion, immunity, and the bodyβs natural ability to detoxify.
Raw Honey β Raw honey contains antioxidants, and also has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties. Itβs a sweetener sourced straight from nature!
All of these ingredients together are not only powerful for aiding in overall health and detox, they make the base for a refreshing spritzer that you can drink every day!
First Step: Making the Elixir
You’ll want to start by slicing the ginger very thinly into a mug or bowl, and then covering it with a little bit of boiling water.
This releases the flavor and active ingredients from the ginger. After it’s steeped for a few minutes and the water has cooled slightly, you can stir in your raw honey, lemon juice, and apple cider vinegar.
Second Step: Making the Spritzer
This recipe is enough for 2 spritzers, so you can divide your elixir (the ginger, honey, apple cider vinegar, and lemon juice mixture) into two glasses – with or without ice! Your preference.
Then, all that’s left to do is pour some flavored sparkling water over the top and mix to combine. My favorite flavor is Grapefruit, but choose whichever flavor you love!
This detox spritzer is something I love in the afternoon, when I’m craving something with bubbles.
If you get that craving too and usually reach for a soda, this is a perfect healthy substitute.
If you work away from home, you can easily make the elixir in advance and then add your can of sparkling water when the afternoon craving strikes.
Ingredients
- 2 cans Earth Fare Grapefruit Flavored Sparkling Water (or your favorite flavor)
- 2.5 inches fresh ginger
- Juice from 1-2 lemons
- 1 tablespoon Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
- 3 tablespoons Organic Raw Honey
- Β½ cup boiling water
Instructions
- Peel the ginger and slice it very thinly (you can use a vegetable peeler or a knife)
- Add ginger to a mug and pour Β½ cup of boiling water over. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes.
- Once the ginger has steeped and the water has cooled slightly, remove the ginger pieces from the water and stir in the honey, juice from 1-2 lemons, and the apple cider vinegar.
- Add ice to two glasses (if desired) and pour half of the mix into each glass. Top with the grapefruit sparkling water and mix to combine. Garnish with a lemon wedge and enjoy!
