Creamy Citrus Tahini Dressing

[I made this Creamy Citrus Tahini Dressing for Earth Fare!]

You guys already know that I’m obsessed with tahini. It has that perfect creamy texture with just a hint of bitterness that I love.

It’s also my go-to base for quick dressings. And one of my favorites to whip up is this one made with citrus – oranges and lemons to be exact!

(Although I’ve made it with tangerines before and that was also DELISH😉)

This 5 minute dressing is so fresh and has a little bit of sweetness from the orange juice and the coconut aminos. If you like a sweeter dressing, you can add just a touch of maple syrup as well!

This tahini dressing recipe couldn’t be simpler

Just mix all of your ingredients together in a bowl until you reach creamy status.

Your tahini will actually thicken up as you add liquid at first, and then as you keep adding liquid it will begin to loosen up and turn ultra creamy. (What we’re going for!)

This recipe makes a good bit of dressing, so you can have it to use throughout the week.

Since it uses fresh orange juice and lemon juice, you should use it up within a week or so.

If you don’t think you’ll use it that fast, you can cut the recipe in half. I do it all the time!

To be really honest…

A lot of times I just want enough dressing for me. Right when I’m about to eat.

When that happens, I just mix some tahini, squeeze of lemon/and or orange juice, splash of Coconut Aminos, dash of ginger, and salt and mix it together, and adjust with more of any of the ingredients until I get it just how I want it (that day).

What I’m saying is that I don’t always follow a recipe! I just throw a little of this and a little of that until it tastes delish. You can do that too!

The citrus tahini dressing is perfect over roasted beets, carrots, and winter squash.

I had it here on a spinach salad with beets, acorn squash, avocado, celery, and sauteed shrimp. 😍

If you have it on hand along with some prepped roasted veggies, you can throw a healthy and delicious meal together in no time!

  1. Tahini is great in smoothies, I love I too. I’m not familiar with Coconut Aminos. How is it usually used. Anything coconut is another favorite of mine. Thanks Allyson, I always enjoy your newsletter and and your tips and recipes (and shopping at Earth Fare)

    • Hi Cody! Coconut Aminos are a great substitute for soy sauce! It has a nice umami flavor with a hint of sweetness. It’s one of my favorite ingredients!

  2. This dressing is so perfect for so many things! I made a salad of romaine lettuce, red onions, and bison flank steak. It was good but this dressing kicked it up a notch! A little goes a long way and it was a great use for the tahini I’ve had sitting idly in my pantry. Can’t wait to try it with the shrimp and a little cilantro! Thank you!
